Auto Typer
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing Auto Typer (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Chrome Extension.
2. Information Collection and Use
Auto Typer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or user content.
Text and Inputs: Any text you paste or type into the extension to be auto-typed is processed entirely locally on your machine. We do not have access to your text, and it is never sent to external servers.
Local Storage: The extension uses the browser’s local storage (chrome.storage) solely to save your text, cursor position, and configurations (such as WPM speed, mistake percentage, and pause preferences). This ensures your progress is saved if you accidentally close the tab. This data remains on your local device.
3. Permissions Justification
To provide its core functionality, Auto Typer requires the following permissions:
activeTab & scripting
Used to safely inject the typing simulation script into your active browser tab (e.g. Google Docs) to mimic human keystrokes.
sidePanel
Used to provide a clean user interface where you can configure settings without cluttering your main window.
storage
Used to save your settings and text progress locally.
4. Third-Party Services
Auto Typer operates entirely locally and does not communicate with any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. Your interaction with platforms like Google Docs is subject to Google’s own privacy policies.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
6. Contact Us
If you have any questions or suggestions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us through our official Chrome Web Store support channels.
